Orguss industries made arguably the best recon 'mech in history when it created an improved version of the Wasp and Stinger. At 45 ton the PHX-1 is a fast recon 'mech that can return respectable firepower to other scouts and even large targets.

With the added LAM capability of certain variants the Phoenix Hawk became a popular command 'mech as well as a ECM scout battlemech. Even after the horrendous losses of the Succession wars the Phoenix Hawk continued to be produced by every house in the Inner Sphere and was amongst the first 'mechs to be upgraded with lostech equipment to fight in the clan invasion. During the invasion it would inevitably face it's clan cousin in the form of the Phoenix Hawk IIC.
