Luc talks about: Likes, Communities (Fans of the Channel) and Searches
Like, comment and subscribe! (It really helps!)
So... I feel like I have explained this somewhat in the past before but... I will go over it a little more indepth with this video since I finally was able to make it (been meaning to make it for a while)
First... let me just put this out there. To keep a channel alive, you SHOULD have adblock off (which I have explained in a video in the past) if you do not, then you might as well not consider yourself a true fan because if less than 50% of the people watching have adblock on, and then the person isn't making enough money to keep the channel afloat, then they might as well never make videos for their "fans" since they won't have time due to getting a "real job" as people put it. (and this actually does take a good amount of work to keep up)
So, that is why I rate this as the following:
With adblock off to support the channel and make it go far with the money earned from it, upgrading the channel and making it become even better.
This helps the Youtube search engine put the person's video on a higher rating of being brought up, meanwhile dislikes make it get put down lower in searches
#3 Subscribe to the Channel
While this may make you think it should be better than likes... this channel for example has over 8k (almost 9k) subscriptions and isn't getting 1k views regularly... because a lot of the people that watch certain videos are brought for my more common videos... (animal crossing, pokemon dream radar [yes, seriously] and more) so while subscriptions do help, they don't help as much as getting brand new people into the channel and maybe making the person their new favorite channel
#4 Comment on videos
This, while the least important... it shows that you exist and shows that you watched the video (instead of just click and stopped) and helps me know that I did a good job on the video if you comment something more than "Hi" or "great video" (I've received these comments before and... while "great video" is close to border of just a random comment... "Hi" is a waste of my time and usually the same person does it for a few videos before stopping lol...
Okay so now that, is out of the way... time to explain the "community" portion that I show in the video.
There was a new tab introduced last year called "Community" which had a few different areas of it... most notably the "Fan" portion of it.
This part displays EVERYONE that is either subscribed or has ever liked, commented and I think favoriting a video counts towards it as well.
I don't get the "default" portion of the list (it might mean people that have recently been "the best" even though their engagement bar isn't as big as some others. However, this portion of the channel on my side shows me everyone that has been a "top fan" to me starting from page one and as the pages go on, it shows me who has been less and less engaged to the videos (pretty much meaning less of a fan)
While this does NOT show me if you watch ads, it does show me who has been "helping" the channel the most you could say via commenting, liking videos, and more.
Not sure really how to end this description except... if you want to try to help the channel out, feel free to push that like button! (... this video doesn't matter if it gets likes or not though, I mean OTHER videos I've made that have to do with games! lol)
