Yes, folks I just finished up the new season of Luke Cage. I'll keep this review short and sweet. I would like to say off hand. I did cheat and started watching the second season with ep 5. Also, I fast-forward a couple subplots that I'll talk about soon.

Good
Characters: Mike Colter stars as Cage is perfect as always. We see Luke Cage face against his arch-rival Maria and his demons from his past like his father. Cage's father played by late and very great actor Reg E. Cathey. Those scenes alone with Luke and his dad is very enjoyable.

The returning principal cast members Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, and Alfre Woodard all do an amazing job. However, one new cast member completely stole the show.

Yes, folks, I'm talking about our boy Bushmaster played by Mustafa Shakir. Mustafa has acting chops, Charisma, and the energy to playoff other actors. he brought the good out of Mike Colter's character Luke Cage. However, you would need subtitles to understand what the f*** he's talking about along with his Jamaican friends and family.

Story:
The story in Luke Cage season 2 is really strong and makes season 1 look like an afterthought because. You get so much more character development and character moments for Luke Cage, Shades, Misty Nights, Maria, Luke Cage's father, and Tilda Johnson and Bushmaster.

Iron Fist: Danny Rand AKA Iron Fist is more enjoyable than his own damn show and The Defenders. Danny was more helpful and also taught Luke some new ways to conduct his investigation and how you perceive life.

The End: I won't spoil what happened at the end but we're at leave Luke Cage and his friends and families and all that stuff it's really interesting and I can't wait to see season 3.

Bad
The writing: the first four episodes of Luke Cage season 2 is all garbage. I had to skip all 4 episode just to get the 5th episode. that's when it gets really good, but the writing isn't all that great still.

The writing/dialogue is either decent to okay at episode 5 to 12. The 13 episode is laughably stupid and the ending makes up how stupid the whole episode was but I digress.

The CGI: oh Lord is CGI for blood effects and fire effects or just low-budget sci-fi channel mess. Episode 10 of season 2 of Luke Cage was very very impactful but it was ruin thanks to the awful CGI effect at the end of the episode.

The Subplots: Ranging from the mother and daughter issues to the cop Drama by whatever issues. The show would spend about 5 to 10 minutes long on the subplots I named off. Luke Cage father issues and Bushmaster backstory are the best subplots easily.

Also, the show writers need to be ashamed of using Tilda Maria's daughter as a plot device and nothing more. That really sucks because of Gabrielle Dennis a good actress and the only user her as a plot device.

The show is ashamed a, its roots: I'm okay for a show to break away from its roots to tell a good story. However, there's no shame in where you come from. This season with very heavy on Easter egg from comic book Source material but nothing else came from it.

Stupid NYC Cops: the cops were reasonable stupid in Luke Cage season 1, but in season 2 oh my Lord they're dumb as a box of rocks. You'll know the signs later in the season.

Everything is all connected: Marvel really needs to give up that title now because not everything has to be connected and this pretty much shows why.

Overall, I had a good time watching Luke Cage season 2 at episode 5 and all the way up to 13. Mike Colter is still amazing and Bushmaster is pure gold in my book. They made the story into more of a greyer than black and white issue. Subplots for Luke, Bushmaster, and Heroes for Hire is very enjoyable to watch.

Everything else is trash with cringe-worthy dialogue, boring subplots that last too long, laughable gangsters, and making one actress (good acting chops) easily seen plot device.

Score: it's a very low Badass Son. It's a nice show to watch with friends, but doesn't have that rewatchable like Daredevil. Again, more enjoyable than the first season.
