My review of the Commodore 64 conversion of the 1988 Taito arcade coin-op game The Ninja Warriors, published by Virgin Mastertronic in 1989. The coin-op original of this game is such a coma-inducing shitfest that literally no-one asked for it to be converted, yet Virgin decided the C64 needed it. An extreme accurate conversion in so far as it is every bit as huge a coma-inducing shitfest as the arcade version. This game manages to combine just about everything I hate in an arcade game... ninjas for the billionth time, a time limit and the need to use melee weapons which means you are always a few pixels away from losing health or a life....
