I almost fluked this right after “Plasma Pulse” but no. I practised and practised the last half and got super consistent. After getting 44%-100% five times in a row I thought this would be a walk in the park but of course I had to die to 84% right after going to Normal Mode. And it just got worse from there I struggled with this way too much. The level is actually pretty easy for the most part which is to be expected from formerly hacked verified level. The balancing is not the greatest in other words…
First comes 11% which is so annoying you can hit the corner of the platform and die or go too late and die later on to 13% spike at the bottom. 19% is also really hard but you can find the rhythm to it. Going down from the yellow portal at 22% is also weirdly difficult, the gap is quite small to fit through. If you get past those parts, there should be only one single tiny little click between you and the drop. 35% is brutally hard compared to everything else in the ball. I’d say most of my attempts ended up here. I found the second half to be little easier but I can understand how the wave can be massive roadblock to some. 45%, 48% and 50% are tight.
My biggest complaint for the level though has to be transitioning from wave to ship. I died to 52% and 53% more than I’d like to admit playing from 0%. And looking back to the recording even this winning attempt was WAY too close I barely survived that. There are three possible outcomes from the transition: the slopes can sling you upwards (in this case you probably don’t need to click until you are near the yellow portal), you hit the platform as ship (in this case you just fly straight), or you’ll miss the platform and fall down (you have to hold and adjust). And getting one of these three outcomes consistently is much harder than it may seem and each outcome has different click patterns you have to do in order to survive. 70%-86% can also be tricky but I didn’t struggle too much with it personally.
Despite everything I just listed I had great time with this level. It’s a classic and a must play for older GD players I think.
