M8.0 San Andreas Fault - Alarming Simulation
215How would it look like to be right on top of a fault that generates an 8.0 earthquake? Watch this video simulation to find out! There are small inaccuracies in this simulation caused by software limitations, but if you see any I would love for you to name a few in the comments below!
However, it is very likely that the fault could generate up to 20 feet of ground displacement along the fault rupture.
A hypothetical location where this might happen is the Cajon Pass, a valley that separates the San Bernardino and San Gabriel mountain ranges.
