Mach Storm is one of Namco's "battle pod" (panoramic optical display) games with a dome screen cabinet design. Like other jet fighter games, it uses a HOTAS setup. The cabinet's seat rumbles if you are hit.
You select from 5 missions of easy, medium, or hard difficulty. Enemy jet fighters get in your way and need to be taken out with either your guns or missiles. There is a combo counter that builds as you don't take too long to shoot down your next enemy. It resets instantly if you take damage. All missions end with a boss target that needs to be destroyed before time is up.
Completing a mission means you're offered an extra stage to shoot down more enemy planes and add to your score. Accepting it requires adding another credit. Downing an enemy marked with a stopwatch gives you back a few seconds.
Mach Storm uses assets of some games from the Ace Combat series. This would be a good game to release for the PlayStation VR.
