Epic and Hardcore Gameplay
I couldn't record the whole run because it was too long, but the first phases are easy anyway. The game was laggy between phase 14 and phase 16, but luckily it didn't crash. My partner died at phase 4 or 5 so it's a solo more than a coop run. On bananas this is one of the hardest challenge modes of Magicka 2. I sped up just some parts, so it's easy to see what I'm doing all the time.
- - - Tips - - -
☆ My staff of choice is Staff of Lok. It buffs all elements but slows Focus Regeneration, which doesn't matter as magicks are not that necessary for this challenge. And the Mallet for melee, knockbacks are key.
☆ Jester Staff is also a viable choice. My main damage comes from elemental walls, which is increased by this staff. Also skeletons are good as meat shield. Jester Staff allows you to literally spam them.
☆ Use a fast robe, Gusoku is the best one, 30% speed buff and 75% damage protection against physical damage. This includes Ice and Earth spells. Wuxia is the free versión of Gusoku, with a 20% speed buff, nevertheless be extremely careful with physical damage. Literally almost any direct contact hit will one hit KO you.
☆ Elemental walls are the best way to deal damage in this scenario. I'm not a big fan of Lightning but it works really well when combined with Steam, or whichever weakness the enemy has. As not many enemies resist it.
☆ Keep Shield up on yourself all the time. Banish it just to heal. This way you'll be able to run through your own elemental walls.
☆ Know your enemy. On bananas all enemies recover 100HP per second. Knowing your enemies weaknesses is key to kill them quicker. Poison and Fire damage over time can help a lot too.
☆ Phase 20 is the hardest (duh...), kill Vanirs first and save Heltrolls for last. Against this ones keep Fire Ward up constantly and unless they directly hit you, they won't kill you. They're weak to Life and Cold. But Cold + Life walls are destroyed by their fire so Life + Lightning is the way to go. Also Water + Life beams wet them, making them even weaker to this walls.
