Before this, I don't think I knew that there was a screen above the topmost shown screen on the map. And if I did, I must've forgotten about it. In any case, the old strat for this level was to climb one screen, Shuttle Jet as far as you could, then complete the rest of the stage with Match Blast. It was quite slow because the layout of the screens in the rest of the stage are not kind to Match Blast at all. Tight corridors of spike ceilings and lots of zigzagging.

This strat, in comparison to doing the in bounds portions of the stage, is a little easier and much faster. You have to climb up 7 screens in a row with Chomp Claw which is I think the most I've ever done for a strat, tied with Joe Man. This is pretty hard, but not too much to handle. Then you just Match Blast over to the end. You do need to use an M Tank, but it's okay because you need Match Blast ammo for Mecha Dragon anyway. Then you just kill Mecha Dragon. If you kill Mecha Dragon in just the right place, you can have the Element spawn on top of you for a faster grab. I didn't get that this time around, so I lost a bit of time.

This run beats the previous alter record, Bored's 1:19.200. This had been the record since 2018. When I attempted the stage, I didn't like going through the in bounds parts very much so I didn't put much effort in. This new strat really saved my hide because I think I still would've hated going through those sections. For improvements, I haven't timed it, but maybe instead of using Match Blast at the top screen to get to the end, you could use Shuttle Jet. This cuts out having to go for that weapon energy at the end as well as having to use an M Tank. But Shuttle Jet is overall slower than Match Blast in terms of speed, so I'm not sure which one would be faster. Other than that, the Mecha Dragon fight and Element grab could be faster and maybe some of my Match Blast movement from the M Tank usage to the end.
