Magnus Carlsen finds a genius idea at the end against Caruana, ft. special appearance by Hikaru
2,888It seemed like the game between Magnus Carlsen and Fabiano Caruana at the 17th round of World Blitz 2022 was going to end in a draw. That would have been huge as Hikaru Nakamura who was on the same score as Magnus Carlsen had already won his game against Andreikin. However, Magnus always puts maximum pressure on his opponents and he did so once again leaving Caruana to find the exact move to save the game. The American GM wasn't able to do so giving Magnus the win. Watching from the sidelines Hikaru Nakamura is not thrilled by what just transpired.
The final scene of the video is nice because you can three of the highest rated blitz players in the world in one frame.
