Players can choose among four playable characters with unique backgrounds and abilities to fight against vampires and human enemies in an open world setting. The game features both single-player and cooperative multiplayer modes.
The four playable characters in Redfall are Devinder Crousley, Layla Ellison, Remi De La Rosa, and Jacob Boyer. Each character has their own unique abilities that would come in handy in dealing with a town overrun by vampires. Devinder is a combat engineer, Layla is a college student, Remi is a cryptozoologist, and Jacob is a mercenary.
