Woolworths was an integral part of British culture back in the 90's. A jack of all trades, master of none - it was the go-to place for kids in the 90's to buy Pick N Mix which single-handedly (probably) kept the company afloat until it's inevitable demise in 2008.

For some reason Woolworths decided to go out in style and on the last day of opening, my local store decided to drop it's prices by 10% every single hour until closure. Everything was so cheap! It was like a dream. The prices were insane. I couldn't contain my excitement. I called my sister and told her the incredible news - she wasn't interested. I hung up and continued circling the store with the other drewling rabble until finally leaving with a bag of random goodies I didn't actually need or intend to use.

I now have a sealed King Kong Deluxe Extended Edition 3 Disc Set [DVD] (with original Woolworths security label) proudly on display in my living room cabinet as a reminder of one of the best days of my life and a whimsical anecdote when entertaining guests, seducing beautiful women and/or meeting government officials. RIP Woolworths.
