Making Loop Points - TMNT4 '89' project #snes #msu1 #tmnt #retrogaming #hacks
Showing how to make loop points for MSU1 hacking.
A brief history
============
Q: Why the '89 arcade soundtrack? Why not the Turtles in Time arcade soundtrack?
A: It's been done.
I've always loved the '89 boss theme, so that was the beginning. I didn't plan on doing anything else, but it occurred to me that '89 stage 1 could be used for the "Roof" song in TMNT4. Down Town, could be used as Downtown, etc. So, I kept going trying to work all the '89 songs into TMNT4.
I knew how to loop audio tracks; however, I didn't know how to make loop points in the program Wav2Msu. So instead, I made 7-minute-long tracks because I figured it wouldn't take 7 minutes to beat a stage. It worked fine, but the uncompressed files were huge. About 70MB per song. If I want to share this, I needed to use loop points. I figured it out and this video is a quick demonstration of me taking one of my 7 min songs and making it more manageable.

I use Audacity for making loop points. Use the Loop button and find your beginning and ending of the loop. Get the "sample number" of the beginning of your loop (the part I didn't originally know), and delate everything after the end of your loop. Export as an uncompressed WAV. Use Wav2MSU along with the sample number to convert the file to PCM. You're good to go.
