Hard Times is an elaborate reworking / hack of TAD's Blood Brothers, with a complete reskin and change of theme and many, many code changes, it was put out in 1994 by Playmark primarily for the Italian market. Due to hardware differences, namely the sound being driven by a read protected PIC16c57 it has never had sound in MAME. Thanks to Caps0ff, Tailsnic Retroworks the PIC was sourced, deprotected and the internal ROM for the game read out, allowing for complete sound emulation.

I actually prefer the theme of this one over Blood Bros.
