mammatus clouds, are a type of cloud formation that can be seen underneath other clouds. Mammatus clouds are not necessarily dangerous on their own, but they can be an indicator of severe weather conditions.

Mammatus clouds form as a result of sinking air in a thunderstorm, which creates pockets of cool air that sink down into the warmer air below. As the pockets of cool air sink, they push down on the clouds below, creating the distinctive "pouch-like" shape of mammatus clouds.
