Manchester City launches smart scarf to gauge fans' instantaneous reactions

England's Manchester City Club is launching the smart scarf application to measure the physiological and emotional reactions of the fans during the matches.

Collaborating with its technology partner Cisco, Manchester City Club has released a scarf to observe the physiological and emotional effects of football matches on fans.

Thanks to the EmotiBit biosensor placed on the neck of the scarf, instant data such as heart rate, body temperature and emotional state of the fans will be obtained.

Data collected in different situations such as missed penalties and last minute goals will enable the club to provide personalized experiences for fans in the future.

Smart scarves will be available to a limited number of Manchester City fans in the 2022-23 season.
