Marble Blast 9 Beta Levels
I noticed I had this mod sitting around on my computer from years ago, so I decided to play it!
Some things to note:
- The beta build has 10 playable levels, all of which are in the video.
- I don't know if the gems are supposed to look how they do, but you'll have to deal with it.
- This video was (very coincidentally) uploaded on the exact same day 4 years after IsraeliRedDragon uploaded his "Marble Blast 9 Demo Levels" video.
Level notes:
Beginner:
1 - 2.44s - 0.01s slower than Matan's time.
2 - 2.51s - 0.16s faster than Matan's time. I didn't do an edge hit like he did which got me a better time.
3 - 4.49s - 0.29s faster than Matan's time because for whatever reason the gems in my video are much bigger than in his.
4 - 4.99s - Took a while to finally get sub-5s. The first superjump's height was just right in this run.
Intermediate:
1 - 37.38s - This was the first time I had beat the level with this path, and I couldn't be bothered to try to get a better time.
2 - 5.47s - 0.01s slower than Matan's time. I couldn't seem to get as fast as him.
3 - 8.68s - I tied Matan. After watching his video it seemed like it would be a lot of work to perfectly do the 2 edge hits he does in his video, but as I played the level, I realized that these edge hits are unnecessary and you can get just as fast of a time without them. I think this could still be improved a bit.
4 - 43.08s - Another level where I couldn't be bothered to get a better time. Besides, the only way I can see that there is to get a better time would be by doing a traplaunch, and I don't want to spend tons of time trying to get that perfect launch.
5 - 2.69s - This level was a LOT of fun. In my earlier runs I would get the first time travel at around 3.30s, and then do a wall hit to get the second time travel and continue on with the level. I quickly realized that this wall hit was unnecessary if you bounced off the angled platform at just the right angle. After optimizing this route, my best time was 3.04s. I wondered if it would be possible to skip the first gem, and go straight to the first time travel, but it didn't seem possible to do this without the time running out. I looked around at everything on the map and tried to figure out the best possible route, and I eventually found one that got you to the finish without the time running out. Using this path, my best time was 2.82s. I kept trying to see if I could get sub-2.80s, but I ended up finding a few more little tweaks, and I got my time to sub-2.70s. Awesome level!
Advanced:
1 - 7.47s - As far as I can tell it's impossible to jump straight to the finish from the top of the green platform, so I ended up being forced to keep this run where I edge hit off the platform. This can be improved.
