Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Apr 15 19 A
Initially, I did this so I could have something to put up over this week. How could I have possibly known that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 3.0.0, including Joker, would come out right after I intended to put this up? Because of that, I spent the entire evening going through all of my Replays and salvaging what I had because I know these Replays will become invalidated instead of typing this description, and now I'm up later than I should.
I would ask you guys to help me with my montages, and I'd tell you what I have left (for FInal Smashes, Pokémon, and Assist Trophies, it's not that much), but there's still no replay-sharing feature.
Oh well. Here's some Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, whose original purpose still stands. I still had fun anyway! Please request characters, vehicles, wheels, and gliders for me! (One request per person until I put it up, of course.)
Race #1
Mirror
Animal Crossing (Winter)
There are two Rick Sanchezes playing in this race, it seems. I guess besides overwhelming intellect, another thing the Ricks have in common is a love of Mario Kart, even if they're not always the best at it. In this one, I was a bit frustrated seeing the racers in front of me take all of the Item Boxes on the balloons, but no matter. You can never let your guard down in Mario Kart, and if there's anything I've learned playing Mario Kart for over 20 years, it's how to catch up after being set back. Oh yes, and this was a request from Keegster23 to use the green Yoshi riding the Mach 8 with Standard wheels and the Gold Glider.
Race #2
150cc
Hyrule Circuit
I remember when this was first added to vanilla Mario Kart 8, and it was chosen so often, I kind of got sick of it. It's pretty different in Deluxe, since Hyrule Circuit comes with the game right on release, so those wo got Deluxe and not the original Mario Kart 8 probably see it as just another racetrack, albeit one from a cameo IP. The reason I saved this one, however, is the incredible chaos near the end as everyone unloaded their items. The key to making sure you have more wins than losses in Mario Kart is to know how to get through the fracas unscathed.
Race #3
150cc
SNES Donut Plains 3
Good thing this isn't 200cc, because this track is a real doozy due to its rather quick successions of left and right turns. Not that it isn't a doozy due to the wide open spaces allowing for greater aggression and Mushroom offroad traveling though. (Is it me, or do other racing game franchises not have that much offroad stuff?) Also, did you know Sans is German? Next thing I lear, Papyrus is from Vanuatu or something.
Race #4
150cc
Sunshine Airport
Dry Bowser is a heavyweight, meaning he has a high top speed but low acceleration (though this can change with what he drives). You can see that in how I pulled ahead for a while, but the moment I was attacked, things went south. It's okay though. I mentioned earlier that climbing the ladder is a crucial skill to have playing Mario Kart, and it's important to not feel too angry or disappointed if you fall behind because that's going to happen to everyone. For the record, when I don't make mention of the character and vehicle I'm using, it's because it's not a request. I only got one request in the intervening time! That's why I'm asking for you guys to request me stuff!
Battle #1
Balloon Battle
Urchin Underpass
So it seems, ultimately, Urchin Underpass did not return to Splatoon 2. Unless, of course, an upcoming Splatfest has a replica of Urchin Underpass as its Shifty Station for some reason. I find it an odd choice, since it IS one of the more iconic stages in Splatoon 1 (though I feel Blackbelly Skatepark is more iconic, which DID return). I actually would have chosen an earlier match, Coin Runners on Lunar Colony, but when I looked up my previous MK8D videos, I found out my last Battle Mode video was on Lunar Colony, and I didn't want to have the same place twice in a row. I guess that guarantees I won't be putting up Urchin Underpass as the next one. I chose this one, ultimately, because while there are only 8 people around, I did find people fairly easily. Successfully attacking them, on the other hand, is a lot harder.
