The third wave of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass is now out, and with it are two new cups, the Rock Cup and the Moon Cup, it has included three Tour tracks, two 3DS tracks, a GBA track, a DS track, and a Wii track.
I do the Rock Cup on 150cc, and I have no plans to do 50cc or 100cc for the Booster Course Pass cups, that way I can have time explaining about the tracks included in the Booster Course Pass, and the Rock Cup is a reference to the Rock Mushroom from Super Mario Galaxy 2.
The character I use for this one is King Boo, and the vehicle combination is Badwagon, Crimson Slim, and MKTV Parafoil, and in the Rock Cup, the courses are Tour London Loop, GBA Boo Lake, 3DS Alpine Pass, which is called Rock Rock Mountain outside of Europe, and Wii Maple Treeway.
Going over the new tracks, first up is London Loop, and it is like other Tour tracks where all of the laps are different, and each of them are based on variations of London Loop in Mario Kart Tour, and the rock music that plays could be why this track is in the Rock Cup. Boo Lake is from Mario Kart: Super Circuit, and it uses its appearance in Mario Kart Tour, and this is the first Booster Course Pass retro track to have an underwater section of the course, and it makes use of the antigravity. Next is Rock Rock Mountain, or Alpine Pass in Europe, I prefer the name Rock Rock Mountain, it sounds better than Alpine Pass. This is one of my favourite tracks from Mario Kart 7, and very fitting this course is part of the Rock Cup, while it does use its appearance in Mario Kart Tour, there are Spin Boost Pillars which you can use to get a Spin Boost. The last track is Maple Treeway, and this is the first course in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to use the halfpipe where you can perform a Jump Boost, or a trick, these were in a bunch of courses in Mario Kart Wii, but aside from that, not much has changed with Maple Treeway, I do like how you can get Mushrooms from the pile of leaves. In the data for the courses, Boo Lake would have been the third course in the Rock Cup, Alpine Pass would be the last course in the Rock Cup, and Maple Treeway would have been the second course in the Acorn Cup, which wouldn't be till the 6th wave of the Booster Course Pass, and there was even data that Waluigi Stadium from Mario Kart: Double Dash!! was going to be in either the Rock Cup or the Moon Cup, but it is not in either of them.
