The next one in the 3rd wave of the Booster Course Pass is the Moon Cup, which could be a reference to the Power Moon from Super Mario Odyssey, it is good to see that referenced when that game wasn't even out when the base game for Mario Kart 8 first came out, because the base game was on the Wii U, and that was before the Nintendo Switch was even announced.
The character I use for this cup is Rosalina, and I go with B Dasher, a kart I never use for Rosalina, the only character I ever use the B Dasher for is Mario, and the other vehicle parts are the Azure Roller and Parafoil. The tracks in the Moon Cup are Tour Berling Byways, DS Peach Gardens, Merry Mountain, and 3DS Rainbow Road, Merry Mountain is from Mario Kart Tour.
Going over the tracks, first up is Berlin Byways, and I like the music for that course, and this one has different paths for each lap, and the Whomps can be used for Jump Boosts on the final lap, and this is another traffic course, which you can see on the second lap, this is the second Booster Course Pass to be a traffic course, the first being Shroom Ridge in the first wave. Next is Peach Gardens from Mario Kart DS, and this one has a twist to it, on the final lap, you race the course in reverse, the first time in a retro track that did not originate from Mario Kart Tour to ever do this, I know that Paris Prominade did that, but that was a Tour track, and Peach Gardens very recently was added into Mario Kart Tour before the release of Booster Course Pass Wave 3.
To tie in with Christmas, or the Holiday Season because the word Christmas never gets used in any sort of media, it is Merry Mountain, and this one has added some antigravity in pats of the course, and there is the half-pipe like in Maple Treeway, I do like this course, and that is great timing to add Merry Mountain into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Then for the final track in the Moon Cup, and it is Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 7, this is my favourite Rainbow Road in the whole Mario Kart series, and the music is one of my all time favourite songs from the Mario Kart series, or even in any Nintendo 3DS game, and it is good to hear this song remade into this game. Rainbow Road is split into three sections to make one lap, this was one of the first tracks in Mario Kart 7 to have sections instead of laps, and this did carry over to N64 Rainbow Road in the base game of Mario Kart 8.
I do like how this course has planets in the background, and you drive on the rings of one of the planets, and during the second section, you drive on the moon before the third section, it is really good to revisit this course again, and this Rainbow Road was used as a stage in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS.
