Unlike other mod packs I've covered in the past which focus on custom tracks, Variation Sensation focuses on the 32 Nintendo made tracks of Mario Kart Wii and has a collection of various modifications of them, whether it be texture mods, the track being stretched or shrunk, the off road and main road being swapped, and more. I feel like the CPU racers are a little more difficult than normal too but I'm not 100% sure.
