Mario Kart World is a kart racing game developed and published by Nintendo, and is realsed June 5, 2025, as a launch game for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Mario Kart World is a kart racing game for the Nintendo Switch 2. As in previous Mario Kart games, players race as characters from the Mario series in customizable karts. The game features over 40 playable characters, also have alternate costumes. The courses you race on are all connected in a seamless world in Mario Kart World supports up to 24 players, more than in previous Mario Kart games, and includes features such as an open world design, a free-roaming mode, off-roading classic Grand Prix, or go the distance in the Knockout Tour elimination mode , boat racing, rail grinding and wall jumping. Race on brand-new courses, as well as familiar ones that have been reimagined with additional routes and other details, many with different outfits to unlock, and plenty of vehicles to master too Race online across modes with up to 23 other players, or talk with friends using GameChat as you race or roam. Through CameraPlay, you can even see your friends’ faces next to their vehicles as you zoom past them, whether you’re online or on the same couch.

On January 16, 2025, Nintendo announced the Nintendo Switch 2 with footage of Mario Kart World. Nintendo released Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, an expanded re-release of Mario Kart 8 for the Nintendo Switch. Deluxe features a revamped battle mode, including five sub-modes. After launch, Deluxe received several software updates, including the "Booster Course Pass", a downloadable season pass which features 48 additional courses split into six waves set to be released by the end of 2023. Since its release, Deluxe has sold over 48 million units, making it the best-selling Nintendo Switch game and one of the best-selling games of all time. Deluxe was critically acclaimed, with many reviewers calling it the best Mario Kart game or one of the best racing games, though some criticized the lack of new content.
