23All of Donkey Kong's voice clips from the Switch version of Mario VS Donkey Kong, provided by Takashi Nagasako and reused from such games as Mario Strikers Charged, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Party 9, Mario Kart 8, and Mario Party 10. As with most games in the series starting with Minis on the Move, Takashi fully takes over as DK's voice in this game, replacing Grant Kirkhope's archived Donkey Kong 64 voice clips from the original GBA version. He retains many of his Wii-Wii U-era voice clips, particularly those from Mario Kart 8 (big shocker there for a modern Mario spinoff), now in much higher quality than was previously available. This is also one of the final games, along with Super Mario Party Jamboree and Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, to use DK's Rare design that had been used consistently since Donkey Kong Country in 1994, as Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza are set to introduce an updated design for DK based on his more arcade/Donkey Kong '94-era artwork.
