Did you know that Mario hasn't always worked as a plumber?

Even though we know Mario best for plunging toilets and travelling through pipes with his brother Luigi, he hasn't always been a plumber! When Mario made his debut in the 1981 arcade game, Donkey Kong he was actually a hammer-wielding carpenter known as "Jumpman." Nintendo has since confirmed it just made sense that with Mario running through construction sites to rescue his damsel in distress, Pauline it just made sense to have him work as a carpenter instead!

If you like these fun facts and did you know style videos, make sure you leave a like because I'll be sure to make more on Mario and a whole variety of gaming characters from Nintendo franchises and more!
