6 months ago Commander Shepard destroyed the Alpha Relay to slow the Reapers inevitable arrival, but in the process he also wiped out the Bahak system and all 300,000 Batarians in it. After turning himself in he has been detained ever since, and his ship the Normandy SR-2 impounded. Now Admiral Hackett has begun mobilising the fleets after "something big" was detected heading for Earth, and Commander Shepard is called in to give advice to the Defence Committee. Unfortunately Shepard's suspicions are true: The Reapers are finally here. It's the beginning of the end...
