Massive Welding Job on a Backhoe Bucket
And for today's project (actually 2 days) we have a massive welding project. We have a sizeable chunk broken out of a 18" bucket. First I ground out a nice bevel on both the bucket and the broken piece. Also cut the tooth off so I could behind it. Next time to start welding, I tacked it in place with my mig welder then switched over to stick welding with 7018 rods. Made use of my needle scaler for cleaning the weld after each pass. Used a total of 21 welding rods!
