MASTAMIND - STREETVALU 2002 EP (Track 03)
Here it is, 2001 - 2002 when Mastamind was rolling around Detroit with Strawbary Shortkutt and came through MindState Records for work.
It all started with a classified ad placed in the Detroit News.
I seen the ad for "product runner" and made the call.
It was some female who came to Detroit from Arizona looking to make it big with us Detroiters and get at her fantasy lover Violent J of I.C.P. (Inner City Posse - Insane Clown Posse)
Kutt and Mastamind was originally dealing with Lavel aka The Realist who was ripping them off on beats and just butting heads as well as Blaze from Psychopathic Records at the time.
That's where I $ykoe / Mac Nifty came into the picture. Kutt had no transportation and me and Kraze of MindState Records picked her ass up. We got her a Cadillac and work done for the flyers, artwork, web work, mixing and more.
Still to this day people sleep on MindState Records but one thing is for sure. Always the underground independent always will be.
Always with our own studio and never needed to outsource a damn thing.
Self made, self operated and owned unlike so many artists needing help from a workstation outfit house.
So much more to the story but long story short. Lost Souls Records which Shortkutt stole from another group in California ran it through MindState Records... so many Day Oner's have no clue and only the real hardcore fans and industry folk know the real story or what they think is the real story to the rumors of hearsay and blasphemy on my unit.
So let me present to you THE TRUTH... my truth.
My side of the story I kept to myself without the need to boast and brag which is some petty BS... but to set the record straight without hindering other people's fakeness.. here is the reality.

Mastamind's Lounge. Some want to call it a charity event.. it was never a "Charity" event. It was all about Mastamind. PERIOD!
