Match Characters that Occur Zero or More Times, freeCodeCamp's Regex Lessons and Tutorials VIDEO
In this lesson, we continue to learn about regular expression use cases. In previous lessons we learned that using the plus sign (+), we could look up characters that appear 1 or more instances. In today's lesson we look at using the asterisk to match patterns that occur many times or 0 times. In other words, we can use the same logic from the last lesson except that in this lesson we are using the asterisk character to match characters which appear zero or more times within a specified string. Understanding these different ways of manipulating patters allows us to become more precise in our regex creations.
