Mattel/Mezco Dark Knight Returns Batman Custom Kitbash Action Figure Toy Review
0A few years ago Mattel gave us the first of a bunch of action figures based off of Frank Miller's classic tale from the 80's called Dark Knight Returns. It was the Batman in his black and grey duds and as such was a good offering from a company with a spotty record of not screwing things up. The only real complaint I and many Batman fan/collectors had with this figure was the super ugly head that came on his shoulders. Seriously. This thing looked like it fell out of the ugly tree and bashed it's face on every branch on the way down. Mezco, however, gave us a near perfect rendition of old Batty's head and I just couldn't help myself. I just had to pop one of those rad extra heads one the shoulders of the Mattel version of the Dark Knight. I also swapped out Mattel's skimpy little hands while I was at it and POOF we have achieved action figure Nirvana.
