2This Zelda-style top down action RPG is one of the best Japan exclusive Mega Drive games and it luckily made its way to the Japanese version of Mega Drive Mini 2. "Tougi Ou" literally is what they are translating as King Colossus - it means something like Tournament King, the Japanese title just has both because it creates extra impact when you can read both.
The game was co-produced by manga author Makoto Ogino who was legendary for his Peacock King series, and style of 8-pack abs muscular characters fit this game perfectly. At first it seems like an ordinary RPG, but in the middle of the game, the main character becomes a slave and fights his way through the arena in a hardcore Gladiator fashion.
The music is composed by Kenichiro Isoda (磯田健一郎). There is an arrange album with music by classical composer Yasuhide Ito.

In the field of game music, he and his younger brother, Shigeharu Isoda, were active from the 1980s to the 1990s, mainly in the area of porting arrangements and CD arrangements. He arranged the X68000 version of "Galaga '88" and "Ys".
For the PC Engine, he was involved in both the CD and Hu-card versions of "Darius". He also composed the sound for Sega's "Bio-Hazard Battle/Crying: Aseimei Sensou" and "King Colossus".
