30"And We're Out of Gear"
You've thrown everything at us including the kitchen sink, Wily, so it's only fair that you really only have a lift system left and... oh. Of course you would have one of those contraptions, too. Well, let's kick things into another gear and kick your rear one more time, pal! Wait, "Plan B"? Okay, that was great, but I still win! Yep.
So after going through this game again, I can safely say Mega Man 11 is a very good game and one that shows that there are more styles that can be utilized than the traditional pixel art style. The levels are neat to go through, the weapons are mostly fun to use, the game has an awesome presentation (look, soundtrack, voice acting), and it just delivers that old-school gameplay I had been missing with the new-school look.
Only gripes are that a couple of stages are too long in the tooth while the exact opposite happens after Wily 2 where they just put all their eggs into the Robot Master levels' basket and didn't have the chance to do the same for this fortress. Also had a couple of instances of input lag on my jumps. Mostly noticed it in the Torch Man fight where it just takes those extra frames, and that can cost you! So minor gripes with one semi-major one.
All in all though, the game came through and revived the series yet again, and I hope Capcom's team can deliver the next time out whenever that may be. They definitely put the time, effort, and ability into this, and that has me excited for the Blue Bomber's future for the first time in nearly a decade!
Let's hope it's not that long of a wait for the next one, but for now, I'm gearing to take a little more time off this summer to rest up and get back to full strength. Hope you enjoyed the run, all. Peace!
