Partial Transcript
In the Year 200X, Dr. Albert W. Wily held the world hostage by reprogramming helpful robots in a quest for power. Household robot Rock, volunteered to stop Wily. With help from his creator, Dr. Thomas Light, Rock was upgraded to Mega Man. The super fighting robot, put down Wily’s plans, only to find the mad scientist come back again and again. Only a few months before, Wily held Kalinka Cossack hostage, forcing her father, a colleague of Dr. Light, to do Wily’s bidding.
In that most recent confrontation with Mega Man, Wily managed to escape. Our Hero knew that another confrontation against Wily would come once more someday.
Since the last defeat of Dr. Wily, the city has maintained a stable peace. In Dr. Light’s laboratory, the Good Doctor is working on an upgrade, turning Mega Man’s arm cannon into the Super Mega Buster, making it more powerful that ever before! Dr. Light has also created Mega Plates that will maximize defenses.
Before Dr. Light can show Rock, Roll enters the room, telling everyone that Dr. Cossack is on the line, with important news! Rock runs to the phone!
Dr. Cossack is pleased to tell Rock about his newest creation, Beat!! A bird that can travel long distances to help Rock on his missions.
Come by and pick up Beat any time, Dr. Cossack says!
The next day, Our Hero arrives at the Cossack Lab. Kalinka offers Rock his favorite drink, a nice glass of oil, while Cossack readies Beat.
Before there is even time to sit down, the phone rings! It’s an incoming message from Dr.Light!!
Is Rock there? He must come back at once!!, he says.
There’s a rebellious faction of robots causing destruction in the central part of the city right now!
Wily again? Asks Rock!
No, It’s all lead by Proto Man!, Dr. Light tells him! Please hurry home at once!
Proto Man? That wild and mysterious robot? Why would he do that?
Rock bursts out the door and heads right to the city!
Wait! Rock!! Says Dr. Cossack! You forgot Beat!!
Our Hero returns home, but before he can get inside, the lab explodes!!
A dark, shadowy figure carries off the lifeless body of Dr. Light! Rock tries to stop him, but in the tussle can only tear away with a yellow piece of cloth that he wore.
Proto Man?! How dare he! Says Rock.
