Mega Man VI [NES] Playthrough #08, Centaur Man
This is video #08 in my playthrough of Mega Man VI. The seventh stage Mega Man undertakes is Centaur Man's. This stage is a bit trippy in spots. After the underwater section, Mega Man will reach an area with water above and dry land below. The water will provide extra buoyancy for getting over some spikes.
This is the last of the four stages where Mega Man can get a set of Beat parts by taking the correct route to the boss. Near the end of the stage, Mega Man will be presented with a long gap to the appropriate boss door (time index 3:31). He needs to use the Rush Jet Adaptor to get across.
At the end of this stage (time index 3:52), Mega Man will face off with Centaur Man. Centaur Man has quite an original design. He can shoot a shot that will hit the opposite wall and break apart into seven shots that ricochet in a semicircular pattern. He can disappear and then reappear. Most annoying is his Centaur Flash, which can freeze Mega Man briefly.
After the battle, Mega Man will get the Centaur Flash and can get the Beat T-parts. The Centaur Flash is another timestopping device. Since my Mega Man now has all four sets of Beat parts, he will have access to Beat henceforth.
