Mega Man X (ロックマンX - Rokkuman Ekkusu) is a groundbreaking action-platformer game developed by Capcom, first released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in 1993. Known in Japan as ロックマンX (Rokkuman Ekkusu), the game marked a bold evolution of the classic Mega Man series, introducing a more mature tone, faster gameplay, and innovative mechanics such as wall climbing and dashing.
The game was directed by Keiji Inafune (稲船 敬二, Inafune Keiji), widely regarded as the "father of Mega Man," and designed by Yoshinori Takenaka (竹中 義紀, Takenaka Yoshinori), with an unforgettable soundtrack composed by Setsuo Yamamoto (山本 節生, Yamamoto Setsuo).
