Royce has been tugging us along, feeding Red bits of information. Fairview looks nothing more than the blank canvas he describes, requiring the Transistor to paint the future of his design.

Real Talk (minor spoilers from the episode)
It was in Royce's monologing that confirmed what I had suspected of the Camerata- they did not have wicked intentions. A bridge always went somewhere, or a building was always holding something. They wanted to express a world of creativity, and here waited the Process. The digital code given form that builds this world from its nothing. With the Process, they could do anything- Erase concepts of up or down, a path might take you in eight different directions. They wanted to express form, function, and dreams into a world of art!
Unfortunately, all the best of intentions pave the way to wicked deeds. The Process is out of control, and untold numbers of people have been wiped out.
