Memory Switch - Original Game Soundtrack | Brackeys Jam 2020
9Here is the soundtrack I composed for "Memory Switch", which was supposed to be a small game made in 7 days for Brackeys Jam 2020. Sadly, the game never saw the lights of day. But I still decided to upload the soundtrack (without any changes) here, hope you'll enjoy :)

This was my first time making a soundtrack for a game, and boy was it fun... and time-consuming (but I still managed to do it in 5 days somehow)!
The game was supposed to be a 2D platformer/puzzler, about an old man going through a forest. The player would have been able to switch instantly between three time periods called: "young", "middle-aged", and "old". The character's age as well as the environments would then change accordingly. The player would have had to switch between these states to reach the end of each screen. For instance, the player could plant a sapling when "young", then switch to "old" and use that now-grown-up tree as a platform to continue.
So for the Level's music (the one the player would hear the most), I had to create 3 different versions of the same track, one for each time period. Since the player could switch instantly between them however, they had to be very similar, but still different enough to represent the character's different states of mind in each period.
Making the other tracks was more straight forward. It was more about recontextualizing the main leitmotif than anything.
