MERCURY FALLEN - First Impressions #1
323I try out Mercury Fallen and give you the skinny on what it's like. It's a Rimworld like colony builder that is in early access. The early game is quite good but progress quickly seems slow in the mid to late game. More content is being added at a slow but steady pace and the game continues to improve.
This was recorded after game update 22.
Thanks to the developer for a free key!
Some tips:
- turn on vsync to reduce GPU load
- make sure to assign your colonists to jobs in order to make things
- make sure to plant some potatoes early (2 crops should be fine for 3 colonists)
- dig out the map to find items, robots and people
- make a cloning bay do get more people
- people, machines and vehicles can have upgrades or equipment, these help quite a bit

Game Description
Manage a group of intrepid colonists as they attempt to survive on an alien world. Automated machine construction was sent ahead to create the underground Mercury Facility, but something has gone wrong. Your colonists awake to find the facility in ruin. Expand the colony, grow crops, build structures, recover technologies and discover lost secrets to ensure the survival of your new home away from home.
Mercury Fallen is a simulation game which focuses on building, crafting and exploration. The choices you make will decide the fate of your colony.

Mercury Fallen is a sci-fi colony survival game set on an alien world. Automated machine construction was sent ahead to create the Mercury facility, but something has gone wrong and your colonists awake to find the facility in ruin. Mine / grow materials, build structures, and recover technologies to ensure the survival of your new found home away from home.
Mercury Fallen is being developed by a single developer with a core vision of creating a fun and engaging colony survival game with a focus on exploration and expansion. The core game mechanics have been built up over the last year and the game is now in alpha.
Dig out and gather resources from the surrounding area to expand and rebuild the Mercury Facility. Place rooms, structures and furniture to refine resources, recover data for blueprints, grow crops and handle colonist needs.
Some structures require constructing specific rooms which are created by placing the required floor.
The Mercury Facility has fallen in to ruin including the mission blueprint data. Set a scientist to start recovering the data at the computer station.
Resources, caves, water generation and more are all procedurally generated using a custom seed value when starting the game.
