MERP Developer Interview - Game Cannon
276Today I had the opportunity to interview 2 of the developer's of the Middle Earth Roleplaying Project and talked about the issue's they are currently experiencing after being served a cease and desist letter by Warner Bros.
A question I forgot to ask, and so addressed with Alasdair later, was why didn't the MERP team ask for permission before they started the project?
Alasdair advised me that "none of the current members of the team were involved at that time" and they "just assumed they would just leave us alone to do our thing, like the other LOTR mods like third age total war and the last days"
A little optimistic I think, but you can't criticize them too much for being a little naive!
