One other beef I have with the story is the tv-show like format they have going on. Credits appear before and after every mission sometimes even spoiling major character appearances. Not sure why they went for this format and I don't feel it works well for this type of game.

One other flaw....the awful checkpoint system. Way too infrequent causing you to sometimes lose at least 30 minutes worth of progress!

I completed the game and achieved the true ending in a little over 50 hours with around half of the 150 Side-ops completed.
