A special disc that contains deep and intricate secrets about the Metal Slug project is stolen by a mysterious group called the Ptolemaic Army, whose specialty lies from within archaeological excavation and espionage. Marco and Tarma of the Peregrine Falcon Strike Force follow in hot pursuit against the group and in the process are joined by Eri and Fio of SPARROWS. Together once more, the quartet investigate the shrouded objective of the Ptolemaic Army.
Story

In the constant conflicts around the world, the Peregrine Falcons (P.F. Squad), the Regular Army's special-purpose work force, was rushing to develop the next-generation of Metal Slugs in order to increase their strength. One day, the Regular Army's SV planning laboratory that was developing these Slugs were attacked by an unknown group, and the disk containing Metal Slug secrets was stolen. The disk contains blueprints of Metal Slugs, battle records of P.F. troops, weapon data of the Rebel Army, etc. Depriving this disk is equivalent to knowing all the hands of the Regular Army. Marco and Tarma of the PF Squad follow the whereabouts by command from the Chief of Staff to recapture the disk.
Eri and Fio, members of the Special Operations Unit Sparrows, an intelligence agency investigating the Ptolemaic Army, a paramilitary organization that was raiding historical ruins worldwide, succeeded in tracking it down at an ancient ruin known as the "Corridor of Fire". They tried to overtake them, but an unexpected enemy appeared in front of them and were forced to withdraw, the natives who settled in the ruins and the huge Metal Slug protected by them.
The incident revealed that the enemy behind the pilfering of Metal Slug secrets was indeed the Ptolemaic Army. When the Regular Army decided to re-enter the "Corridor of Fire", it was believed that the enemy had already grasped everything in their hands, so a large-scale operation was judged to be dangerous. A surprise attack by selected elite corps from P.F. and Sparrows was proposed instead. The ultimate purpose of this mission is to recapture or destroy the confidential disk and destroy the Ptolemaic Army. All battles after the plunge are left to the judgment of the front line, and this is the start of a counterattack mission by the four elite soldiers Marco, Tarma, Eri, and Fio!![
Character Overview
Fio is the only daughter of a wealthy Italian family. The Germi family was historically a military family, so of course Fio's father wished for the first child to be a strong son. However, following a difficult birth, her mother became unable to bear additional children. This was the first time in Germi history that the family had a female heir. Due to family tradition, she was required to become a soldier, so she was made to join the Government Forces. The complete opposite of Eri, Fio was raised by loving parents and possesses a quiet demeanor. She studied chiropractics and acupuncture in university and is thinking of becoming a sports doctor in the future.
For a seasoned warrior, on occasion Fio will display an almost childlike naivete and exuberance. Her victory pose is a pure example. Aside from her tonfa and hatchet, she also pushes enemies away in fear.
She has been on certain recon missions with Leona Heidern, and they're good friends from that point. One of her favorite drinks is Ice Tea (Queen Mary).
