Meteoro Striker: 2 Minutes of Gameplay (Jommy)
Jommy: Power-ups and debuffs sent have a 20% chance of not working. Debuffs received have a 33% chance of being blocked.
My personal thoughts on Jommy: What's a department store employee doing here? Jommy was basically designed to be the "joke" avatar, the proof that anybody can enter the tournament and potentially survive. Let's see how he holds up. The ability is really simple: All of your powerups and debuffs have a 1/5 chance of being a dud and not working, while all incoming debuffs from the opponent have a 1/3 chance of being blocked. The ability is a passive one, so the real defining gameplay aspect is the physics of this character's board, and I'd say they're pretty solid. Jommy plays similar to Glitra, where horizontal matches have alright power that clears after a few of them while the verticals are an instant clear. Jommy is pretty fun to play as with the only caveat being that there's a bit of luck involved. It's more likely that oncoming debuffs will be blocked than one of your own things not working, someone who's particularly unlucky will only have all of their powerups negated and never block the opponent's debuffs. Setting that aside, would Jommy be considered the worst because he's the joke avatar? Of course not, I can name a good few less fun, lower scoring ones off the top of my head. But for the average joe, he's pretty alright. Just pray that you're in good graces with Lady Luck before entering the tourney.
