One of my first compositions using the upgrade of GarageBand, Logic Studio.
So what's the difference to this and my old compositions? Well, for one, the synthesizers I've been using have had a huge upgrade. They almost sound like real instruments, and they're surround sound too. Unfortunately, youtube's best quality when compressed is stereo, so this will have to do.
Now, description of the song. This is more of an arrangement to the song found in Super Metroid. I didn't try to change it too much. The only major differences is the synthesizers in the background, an extra layer of strings at the climax, and I altered one or two of the string instruments to play as a choir instead. I've tried to make it sound more like a Metroid Prime mix, and originally, had a much slower tempo for the song. However, I felt it lost some of its vital energy, especially at the climax, so I increased the tempo back into the original speed.
This was made for the project "Metroid: Net Mission", which is a fangame. It's a 2D Metroid game, where you can select one of the many characters in the Metroid universe, and then battle it out with other players online. Currently, the physics engine is being worked on, and the game has a little while to go before being complete, but it's getting there.
