Metroid Prime 4 for Switch draws closer every day. As fans count down the days, there’s one smaller, underappreciated aspect of the original prime trilogy Retro Studios simply must preserve for Prime 4 – which is the incredible main menu sequences. Metroid Prime 1, 2, and 3 all had incredible intro and main menu sequences that left a lasting impression. This might sound like a trivial topic, but if we dig a bit deeper, it's really quite the opposite, and something we need to revisit. So first we'll look back at the menus of the first three prime games to understand why they were so important, even if many people don’t even realize it, and then why it’s critical that prime 4 continues this tradition.
