16At the top of the elevator, Samus ventures into the heart of the structure when suddenly, a hive of Dark Splinters attack. Dispatching them, the alpha of the pack emerges!
Mini-boss: Alpha Splinter / Dark Alpha Splinter
*Much like the smaller Splinters and Dark Splinters, the Alpha Splinter likes to charge in for an attack. However, it is craftier in the sense that it positions itself and charges to the point where it thinks Samus will strafe to.
When the interdimensional black cloud appears, it possesses the Alpha Splinter, converting it to the Dark variant. This version is much more reckless in its tackling, making it easy dodge. A new attack in shooting corrosive purple globs should be avoided. When dispatched, an unknown technology is released, bonding with Samus.
The Great Temple's overseer, U-Mos, gives light to the happenings of the planet and begs for Samus' assistance. Naturally, Samus agrees (if only to blow up a planet yet again...).
