It adapts the first 12 episodes of Buichi Terasawa’s 1982 Cobra anime, focusing on the Captain Nelson’s treasure arc. Players control Cobra, a roguish space pirate with a cybernetic Psychogun arm, as he explores exotic planets, battles the Space Pirate Guild, and unravels a cosmic mystery involving three sisters and a legendary treasure.
Accompanied by his partner, Lady Armaroid, Cobra uses weapons like the Psychogun and Colt Python 77, plus gadgets like a grappling hook, in 2D side-scrolling gameplay with Metroidvania-style exploration.
