I made a performance test of Microsoft Flight Simulator Sim Update 4 and Sim Update 5 for you. In both versions I fly roughly the same route and the weather conditions are the same. In total, I fly 6 times with 3 different graphics settings each time.

In this test I use the GeForce RTX 3070 and Ryzen 2800X graphics card. In my case, Ryzen 2800X is definitely a big bottleneck after SU5. You can probably get a lot more FPS with a newer and faster processor.

You can see the comparison between Sim Update 4 and Sim Update 5 directly. What I noticed here is that only the objects that can be seen with the camera are loaded in Sim Update 5. It has advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are that you get more FPS. The disadvantages, however, are that the objects have to be reloaded when the view changes and the result is fps drops for a short time, when you change the camera view. But I'm really happy that you can achieve more fps at all and also fly airliners.
