In this video, Midwinter, released in 1989 for the Atari ST by Rainbird.
A meteorite has collided with the earth causing a global freeze, you and a team of 32 friends have managed to survive in an island building food factories and heat mines. But a band of hostile men have come to the islands and they are seizing your resources and communication facilities in Shining Hollow. In Midwinter you (Captain Stark) have to contact and make up a team from your 32 friends and head to Shining Hollow to retake what's yours and defeat the evil military group. Midwinter was a very hyped strategy game and it was worth the waiting. There are so much possibilities to play and end this game, there are injury effects, intelligent enemies, all in a vast 3D environment, The graphics are good and sometimes there's some slowdowns. The sound effects are minimal but they give the atmosphere. Altough not my kind of game, as you can see in the video, Midwinter is a great game to play.
Here you'll find loading screens, gameplay and game over sequence. Fun fact, part of the game is in german and part in english even if I have selected English as language.
