Mike Gauyo Wants To Change The Writers Room With His Black Boy Writes/Black Girl Writes Mentorship

Our Entertainment Editor spoke to Mike Gauyo, one of Hollywood's emerging creatives known for his prolific writing roles on HBO's hit series "Insecure" and Netflix's "Ginny & Georgia," in partnership with Stage 32, Culture Creative Entertainment, Writ Large, and Final Draft announced the new round of mentees for the Black Boy Writes & Black Girl Writes Mentorship Initiative.
The partnership with Stage 32 consisted of a global search for emerging Black writers, which resulted in 829 applications from 21 different countries. The outcome is a mentee class of fourteen writers from New York, Georgia, Florida, Arizona, and the United Kingdom.
