In the realm of Mind Over Magic, players will encounter a diverse array of room types, each with its own unique requirements and functions. With this visual guide, players may gain the necessary insights to excel in Mind Over Magic, harnessing the tools and knowledge to create an ideal magical academy and provide students with the preparation they need to navigate the daunting depths of the Underschool.
Room Types:
Elevated, Grounded, Towered, Skewed, Lofted, Private, Isolated & Underground.
To designate a room as a specific type, consider the following criteria:
- Elevated
To create an Elevated room, ensure that there are no adjacent rooms or foundations beneath it.
- Towered
A room of the Towered type should not have any adjacent rooms to the left, right, or above it.
- Grounded
Grounded rooms require that their floors are constructed on foundations, typically found on the very first floor.
- Skewed
To make a Skewed room, make sure that the outer wall is at least three or more blocks higher than the opposing wall. For instance, if the outer wall stands at 7 blocks high, with a roof and floor, the opposing wall should only reach 4 blocks in height, also with a roof and floor.
- Lofted
Lofted rooms are characterized by their vertical height surpassing their horizontal width. This typically means having more blocks in height than in width (e.g., 5 wide and 7 high).
- Private
For a room to be considered Private, it must possess only one point of entry, which means a single door and a wall on the opposing side, excludes double doors.
- Isolated
In the case of an Isolated room, it should have no points of entry, remaining entirely cut off from access by surrounding walls.
- Underground
These are rooms located beneath the school, residing in the subterranean depths.
