So, I don't usually record Minecraft videos, but I decided to make this one an exception. I was in the mood for taking 2D objects and making them into 3D, so I eventually attempted to create this monster of a project.

This is the second object I took from 2D to 3D, so far. (The first being an ? block from Super Mario Bros.) I fattened out the claws, the base, and the nuclei here. I did not make the upper half of the body 3D, because that would make the Metroid too opaque. Instead, I opted for putting glass blocks to determine the fatness of the upper half, with the 2D portion as a visible outline for the Metroid. After I was done with the upper half, one of the staff helped me put the water inside, making the model look much more awesome.

Probably the coolest thing about this model was that not only could you enter it and swim inside (that kinda sounds gross, though), if you step back far enough away, the 3D Metroid begins to look much more like the original 2D model.
